A high-level meeting in Punjab has given the go-ahead for a new Sky Glass Bridge in Kotli Sattian to strengthen tourism in the Murree region. Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired the session, which reviewed ongoing work under the Murree Protection and Rehabilitation Plan.

The Sky Glass Bridge stands out as the main new attraction. Officials see it as a way to draw both local and foreign tourists to the scenic hills while keeping environmental rules in place.

Focus on Safety and Landslides Leaders at the meeting stressed the need to handle the area’s common landslide problems. Heavy rains and winter conditions often cause soil erosion and slope issues that affect roads and visitors.

They decided to bring in international experts to study the risks and suggest lasting fixes. The goal is to protect people and keep traffic moving smoothly during bad weather.

Cleaning Up After Demolitions Authorities also received orders to clear debris from spots where illegal buildings were taken down in recent anti-encroachment drives. This work aims to bring back the natural look of the area and reduce crowding in busy tourist spots.

Other Steps for Better Management The government wants all approved projects finished on time. Emphasis was placed on improved traffic handling and measures to avoid problems during bad weather in the future.

Officials said the combined efforts will make Murree safer and more appealing overall. The focus remains on balancing new facilities with care for the local environment.

Expected Outcomes Work on the Sky Glass Bridge and related plans is expected to move forward soon. The addition of this modern feature, along with safety improvements, could help the hill station welcome more visitors year-round.
