The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather advisory, warning of widespread rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible hail across much of the country between April 5 and April 9, 2026. A western disturbance is expected to bring the wet spell, starting in Balochistan and spreading to other provinces.
Impact on Balochistan
The system will first affect Balochistan from the night of April 5. Rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms is likely in Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Dalbandin, and nearby areas until April 7. Coastal districts including Gwadar, Pasni, and Ormara may see showers on April 6. Isolated heavy downpours and hail are possible in some places.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern Areas
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected from April 6 to 9. Mountainous regions such as Chitral, Swat, and Kohistan could receive snowfall. Similar conditions, including moderate to heavy rain and high-altitude snowfall, are forecast for Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir during the same period.
Punjab, Islamabad, and Sindh
Punjab and Islamabad will see rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms from the evening of April 6 through April 9. Cities like Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Sialkot may experience isolated heavy showers or hail, especially on April 7 and 8.
In Sindh, scattered rain and thunderstorms are likely on April 6 in upper areas including Sukkur, Larkana, and Jacobabad. Karachi, Hyderabad, and surrounding districts could get light to moderate rain with occasional hail.
