Vivo has added a new model to its S50 series. The S50t arrived shortly after the original S50 and S50 Pro mini went on sale late last year. It looks and performs almost exactly like the standard S50 but comes with a small change that makes it easier on the wallet.

The main difference sits in the storage. The regular S50 uses faster UFS 4.1, while the S50t steps down to UFS 3.1. This tweak allows Vivo to price the new phone about $14 lower than its sibling.

Design and Display

The S50t features a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with 1260 x 2750 pixel resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This setup delivers clear visuals and responsive scrolling for everyday use.

It comes in four colors: Confession, Serenity Blue, Inspiration Purple, and Space Black. An optical fingerprint scanner sits under the display.

Performance and Software

Inside, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. This chip still delivers strong flagship-level performance despite being from a previous generation. Users can choose between 12GB or 16GB of RAM, both paired with 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. No microSD card slot is available.

It ships with Android 16 and Vivo’s OriginOS 6 on top.

Cameras

Vivo kept the camera hardware strong on the S50t. The triple rear setup includes:

  • 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization
  • 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom and OIS
  • 8MP ultrawide camera

On the front, a 50MP camera handles selfies and video calls.

Battery and Charging

A large 6,500mAh battery powers the device, paired with 90W wired fast charging support. This combination should easily handle a full day of heavy use.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo S50t is available in China with these prices:

  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage: $468 (around CNY 3,199 with promotional pricing)
  • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: $512 (around CNY 3,599)

Both versions sit roughly $14 below the equivalent S50 models.
