KP Sets One-Month Deadline to Clear Driving License Backlog

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has ordered officials to print and deliver over 117,000 pending driving license cards within the next month.

The provincial Transport Department released a detailed plan breaking down the timeline by division and district. Officials say they will stick to the schedule to get the cards into people’s hands on time.

Division-Wise Clearance Schedule

  • Hazara Division: Work wraps up in the first week of January 2026.
  • Malakand Division (including Swat, Dir, and Buner): Completion by mid-January 2026.
  • Peshawar Division: Printing and delivery from January 23 to 26, 2026.
  • Kohat Division: Expected finish by January 29, 2026.
  • Bannu, Mardan, and Dera Ismail Khan Divisions: All pending cards cleared by January 30, 2026.

Many residents have waited months for their licenses due to delays in printing. This move aims to resolve those issues quickly and improve service delivery across the province.
