The Xiaomi 17 series is set to expand with a surprise addition: the Xiaomi 17 Max, which promises the biggest battery in the lineup.
A recent leak from China points to the Xiaomi 17 Max as the fifth model in Xiaomi’s current flagship family. This comes after the launch of the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the photography-focused 17 Ultra in late 2025.
The standout feature of the Xiaomi 17 Max appears to be its battery. Reports suggest it will include an 8,000 mAh cell — larger than the 7,000 mAh in the standard Xiaomi 17, 7,500 mAh in the Pro Max, or 6,800 mAh in the Ultra. It is expected to support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, which would make it one of the quickest to recharge despite the high capacity.
The phone is rumored to run on the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor found across the rest of the series. This chipset delivers strong performance in gaming, multitasking, and AI tasks.
Display and Design Details
The Xiaomi 17 Max is tipped to have a large flat OLED screen, likely between 6.8 and 6.9 inches, with very thin, even bezels on all sides for a clean, immersive look.
Its rear camera module is said to look similar to the standard Xiaomi 17’s design. The main sensor should match the Xiaomi 17’s setup, but the Max version adds a periscope telephoto lens. This upgrade should improve zoom quality and overall photo results compared to the base model.
No official details have emerged on other specs like RAM, storage options, or exact camera resolutions beyond these points.
Xiaomi has not commented on the leak or shared any launch plans for the Xiaomi 17 Max. Sources point to a possible debut in China around April 2026, though this remains unconfirmed.
