Vivo V70 Debuts Flat Screen and ZEISS Portrait Modes

Vivo has rolled out the V70, the latest addition to its V-series lineup. This model refines the formula from the V60 with a more compact and premium feel, while holding onto core strengths like battery capacity and performance.

The phone shifts to a flat 6.59-inch OLED screen with 1260 x 2750 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It delivers higher global brightness at 1800 nits compared to the prior model’s 1500 nits, keeping the 5000 nits local peak. The change to a flat panel, along with a narrower 74.3mm width and slimmer 7.4mm or 7.6mm thickness (depending on color), makes it easier to handle. Weight is down to 187g or 194g.

The Vivo V70 comes in Authentic Black (thinnest and lightest), Canary Yellow, Alpine Gray, and Sandalwood Brown.

Build quality sees clear improvements. The frame now uses 6-series aluminum alloy with polished finishes, replacing plastic. Durability includes IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, plus high-pressure jet protection. It passed drop tests from 1.8 meters, and the screen uses Schott Xensation Core glass.

Inside, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset carries over from the V60, paired with 8GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage. It runs Android 16 with OriginOS 6 out of the box. Vivo promises six years of OS upgrades and security patches — an upgrade from the V60’s four OS updates.

Camera upgrades stand out. The rear setup features a 50MP main sensor (Sony LYT-700V, 1/1.56-inch) with OIS, a 50MP telephoto (1/1.95-inch) offering 3.7x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide. Video now reaches 4K at 60fps. Portrait options cover five focal lengths (23mm to 100mm), with ZEISS-style bokeh effects for varied shots.

Battery remains a 6500mAh unit with semi-solid technology for reliable performance in tough conditions — up to 11 hours of gaming or five hours of 4K video at 60fps. It handles extreme heat (10 hours of navigation at 40°C) and cold (-20°C for eight hours). Charging hits 90W wired.

The Vivo V70 is heading to Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia soon, with availability expected in the coming weeks. Pricing details will come by region. In related markets like India, similar models start around the mid-range segment.
