The Punjab government has rolled out the Green Property Certificate in a local launch event, offering residents a secure online way to verify property ownership and cut down on land fraud.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan led the ceremony for the new system, which uses digital records to confirm property details quickly and reliably. Officials say the certificate helps stop fake documents, lowers the risk of disputes, and makes buying or selling land simpler and less expensive.

The service is part of ongoing work to digitize land records across Punjab through the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA). It provides verified proof of ownership, often with features like QR codes for instant checks, and has already started in multiple districts with plans for wider rollout.

At the event were Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Ahmar Ali, Assistant Commissioner Ashfaq Rasool, Land Records Center In-charge Muhammad Asif, GIS Manager Luqman Haider, and other team members.

Ayesha Rizwan, the Deputy Commissioner, said the step builds trust in property deals and protects people from common fraud issues in land transactions.

In a separate visit the same day, DC Rizwan checked the local vegetable market. She looked at how auctions were run, current supply levels, demand trends, and wholesale rates.

She told market staff to follow official price rules strictly, put up clear rate lists where everyone can see them, and avoid any hoarding or creating shortages on purpose.

Rizwan made it clear that keeping food items available at set prices and good quality is a main concern, and any rule-breaking will face quick legal steps.
