The Punjab government has raised the number of Minority Card beneficiaries from 50,000 to 75,000, enhancing financial support for minority families. This decision, announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aims to uplift more underprivileged households starting in 2025.
Expanded Aid and Eligibility
Each eligible family will receive Rs. 10,500 every three months to help with basic needs. The program now targets 75,000 families, up from the initial 50,000.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be residents of Punjab.
- Belong to a minority community.
- Have a valid CNIC and a PMT score of 45 or less.
- Not receive other government aid like BISP or PSPA.
Registrations can be done online at mcard.punjab.gov.pk, with a helpline at 1040 for assistance. The move reflects a commitment to inclusivity and support.
Background and Impact
The Minority Card scheme, launched earlier, provided aid to 50,000 families. The increase to 75,000 shows the government’s effort to reach more people. Funds will be distributed through bank accounts or ATMs, ensuring transparency.
Next Steps
The government plans to finalize registrations by early 2025. Officials urge eligible families to apply soon to benefit from this expanded support.
