Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has rolled out the Parwaz Card, a new program that provides interest-free financial help of up to Rs 300,000 to skilled young people. The move focuses on those heading for jobs overseas, helping them cover costs without falling into the hands of agents.
She announced the scheme during the launch event in Lahore on January 28, 2026, where she also introduced the Rah-e-Rozgar employment portal and the Skill Development Portal. These steps form part of a broader effort to build skills and create job opportunities for the province’s large youth population.
Key Highlights from the Launch
Maryam Nawaz stressed that the government must act like a supportive parent to its people. She pointed out that Punjab has already trained 200,000 young individuals under the Chief Minister Skill Development Program. Out of these, more than 114,000 have found work—around 97,000 inside Pakistan and 33,000 abroad.
The Parwaz Card will go to 50,000 skilled youth at first. It promises clear and open handling of funds to stop any misuse. The chief minister made it clear that lack of money should never block a talented young person from moving forward.
She highlighted success in sectors like garments, where 1,000 trained youth have already gained jobs. Efforts also continue through e-commerce platforms, allowing young people to build honest incomes from home or small setups.

Focus on Global Opportunities
Maryam Nawaz noted the worldwide need for trained workers. Punjab’s youth, she said, are already showing their worth on the international stage. By offering proper training and support, the province aims to meet that demand and protect its people from exploitation during the migration process.
The new portals—Rah-e-Rozgar for job links and the Skill Development Portal for training access—will connect youth to real opportunities both locally and overseas.
The Parwaz Card and linked programs mark a fresh push by the Punjab government to invest in its youth. Officials expect these efforts to open more doors for employment while keeping processes fair and transparent. More details on application will appear on the official Punjab government portal soon.
