Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif unveiled plans to create six modern Aqua Business Hubs across Punjab, aimed at advancing the fisheries industry. The hubs, to be built in Rawalpindi, Wazirabad, Sargodha, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Khanewal, will each cost Rs. 5 billion and take two years to complete, marking a significant step toward modernizing aquaculture in the province.

Each hub will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to support the fisheries sector and local farmers. Key components include:
- Fish Hatcheries: Advanced breeding centers for over 16 fish species suited to Punjab’s climate.
- Processing and Storage: Modern facilities for fish processing and cold storage to ensure quality.
- Training and Research: Labs and training centers to equip farmers with new techniques and knowledge.
These hubs aim to improve fish production, create jobs, and enhance food security by introducing modern technologies to the industry.
