In a bid to ease communication woes for flood victims, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has rolled out key relief measures alongside mobile operators, restoring over 70% of damaged networks while offering free calls to keep families connected.
Relief Efforts Underway
Recent floods have wreaked havoc across Pakistan, disrupting essential services including telecommunications. The PTA, working hand-in-hand with Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs), has stepped up to provide immediate support. One major step includes complimentary voice calls within the same network for users in the hardest-hit regions. This means even those with no balance on their accounts can reach out to loved ones or seek help from emergency responders.
