The Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) has stepped in to clear the air about how payments work on its services. Many passengers were confused about the eTransit app’s digital wallet and the physical T-Cash card, so the authority released a statement to set things straight.
Key Differences Between the Two Systems
The eTransit app wallet and the T-Cash card are completely separate. They do not share balances or connect in any way.
- Money added through a Public Services ID (PSID) goes only to the app’s e-wallet. It won’t show up on the T-Cash card.
- The T-Cash card, provided by the Bank of Punjab, acts like a regular bank card. Users can withdraw cash from ATMs or pay at shops that accept Mastercard.
- The e-wallet, on the other hand, is meant just for paying fares on buses, metro lines, and other mass transit options in Punjab.
PMTA stressed that money in the eTransit wallet stays safe. But users cannot move funds from one to the other.
