Pakistan and Iran Boost Direct Flights to Nine Per Week

Tehran, December 28, 2025 — Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran has confirmed that direct air services between the two countries now total nine flights each week. The change, which takes effect this week, aims to make travel simpler and support closer links in trade, tourism, and daily exchanges between the neighboring nations.

Pakistan’s Ambassador Mohammad Mudassir Tipu shared the news on Sunday through a post on X (formerly Twitter). He noted that the added flights should help expand business opportunities, encourage more visitors, and bring people from both sides closer together.

The routes connect major cities in Iran, mainly Mashhad and Tehran, to key locations in Pakistan: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Quetta. Iranian carriers including Iran Air, Taban Air, Mahan Air, Iran Air Tour, and Kish Air operate these services. Many include same-day or next-day returns, which suits short business trips or family visits.

Here is the current weekly schedule:

  • Mashhad to Karachi: Tuesday – Taban Air Flight 7209
  • Mashhad to Karachi: Sunday – Iran Air Flight 816 (return Monday)
  • Mashhad to Lahore: Friday – Iran Air Tour Flight 9780 (return Saturday)
  • Mashhad to Lahore: Sunday – Taban Air Flight 7207 (return same day)
  • Mashhad to Quetta via Zahedan: Wednesday – Iran Air Flight 826 (return same day)
  • Tehran to Lahore: Saturday – Mahan Air Flight W51195 (return Sunday)
  • Tehran to Islamabad: Thursday – Mahan Air Flight W51185 (return same day)
  • Mashhad to Islamabad: Thursday – Kish Air Flight 6004 at 11:00 AM (return same day)
  • Tehran to Islamabad: Tuesday – Iran Air Tour Flight B99778 (return same day)

This step builds on earlier progress in air links between Pakistan and Iran. Earlier in 2025, agreements led to new routes and higher weekly capacities, including initial services to Islamabad and Karachi. The latest increase to nine flights reflects ongoing efforts to improve connectivity after years of limited options.
