Good Opportunity for Pakistani Students to Study in Germany

Islamabad – Pakistan and Germany have agreed to deepen ties in youth education and skills training, with Berlin aiming to welcome more Pakistani students for higher studies and professional opportunities.

Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan held talks with German Ambassador Anka Lepel at the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday. The meeting focused on ways to expand cooperation in education, vocational training, and youth exchanges.

Ambassador Lepel shared that Germany intends to increase the number of Pakistani students in the country from the current 6,000 to 10,000. She stressed the value of stronger academic links and support for Pakistan’s technical and vocational education system.

Rana Mashhood briefed the ambassador on key PMYP efforts. He spoke about the National Youth Council, which advises on youth policies, and the Green Youth Movement, which raises awareness about environmental issues and climate action among young people.

Both sides expressed support for ongoing work in these areas. They committed to keep working together on education programs, skill-building projects, and opportunities for Pakistani youth to gain experience in Germany.

The discussions come at a time when more Pakistani students look toward Germany for affordable, high-quality education. Public universities there often charge little or no tuition fees for international students, though living costs and language requirements remain factors.

This move could open doors for thousands of young Pakistanis seeking better academic and career prospects abroad.
