Background on Lahore Safari Zoo

The zoo covers 242 acres and serves as a hub for conservation and learning. Phase-II of the master plan has a projected cost of 7 billion PKR but awaits full approval. For the 2025-26 budget, 5 million PKR is set aside, with most funds planned for the next year.

Recent additions include a 98 million PKR aquarium project, which features a large shark tank and over 35 marine species. The zoo also introduced a Jurassic Park zone with dinosaur models and glamping options for overnight visits earlier this year.

Outlook and Government Commitment

The meeting signals progress toward making the zoo a key spot for tourism in Punjab. With these updates, the site could attract more families and support wildlife efforts. Officials plan to move forward once approvals are in place.
