Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally 2026 Rescheduled: Full Dates Announced

The 21st Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally 2026 has been postponed by a week. The event will now run from February 11 to February 15, 2026, across the districts of Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan.

The Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) issued the updated schedule after the original dates of February 4 to 8 were changed.

Revised Schedule and Key Activities

The rally kicks off with an inaugural ceremony in Bahawalpur on February 10.

  • February 11: Vehicle inspection, driver registration, and a briefing session for participants.
  • February 12: Qualifying round at Dilwash Stadium, close to the historic Derawar Fort.
  • February 13: First main race day, open to both male and female drivers.
  • February 14: Stock category race, followed by a cultural night featuring local traditions.
  • February 15: Second round of racing, dirt bike competition, and the final prize distribution ceremony.

The Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally stands as one of Pakistan’s premier off-road motorsport competitions. Held annually since 2005, it draws drivers from across the country to tackle the harsh desert dunes. The event highlights the natural landscape of the Cholistan Desert while promoting local culture through music, food, and heritage displays.

Organizers expect strong participation again this year, with categories for different vehicle types and skill levels. The rally also serves as a platform to boost tourism in southern Punjab, drawing visitors to explore sites like Derawar Fort.

No specific reason for the date shift was detailed in the official notification, but such adjustments often relate to logistics, weather, or preparation needs in the desert area.
