The Capital Development Authority (CDA) enforcement teams conducted a successful operation in Saidpur Village on Friday, September 19, 2025, demolishing 7 illegally constructed houses and 3 javelins. This latest action brings the overall progress of the anti-encroachment campaign to 80%, reclaiming significant portions of the historic site for planned development.
Operation Details
The drive, part of a broader initiative to restore Saidpur Model Village, targeted unauthorized builds that have encroached on 370 kanals of state land. So far, CDA has reclaimed over 210 kanals, with today’s efforts removing key violations. Deputy Director General Enforcement Dr. Anam supervised the activity, using heavy machinery to clear the area efficiently.
Saidpur, a cultural landmark near Islamabad, has faced illegal occupations for years, hindering its potential as a tourist hub. The operation follows directives from CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who visited the site earlier in August to review progress.

Broader Campaign Context
This phase builds on earlier successes, including the recovery of 60 kanals in September and 1.5 acres near Margalla Hills in July. Satellite imagery helps identify post-2005 constructions, ensuring thorough enforcement.
Future Plans
With 80% cleared, CDA aims for full eradication soon, followed by beautification and eco-friendly upgrades. Residents are urged to report encroachments and cooperate for a cleaner Islamabad.
