Balochistan Starts Pink Bus Service for Women in Quetta

The Balochistan government has begun operating a new bus service reserved only for women in Quetta. This Pink Bus Service gives female passengers, especially students and those with jobs, a safe way to travel around the city each day.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti shared the news on social media platform X, noting that the main goal is to make commuting safer and more respectful for women and girls.

The service runs only for women, with female staff on board and security measures in place. It starts in major parts of Quetta, where many people need better public transport options.

Officials point out that the buses will help women reach schools, offices, and other places more easily. Plans call for keeping the service running long-term, with possible growth to other areas of the province later.

Women in the area have greeted the news warmly. Many say it fills a real need and should make their daily trips less stressful.

The project fits into wider efforts to improve transport in Balochistan, building on earlier steps like the Green Bus routes.
