Punjab’s government has opened its laptop program to students in private schools and colleges for the first time. Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said 10,000 laptops will go to deserving students in these institutions this year.
The move comes after higher authorities gave the go-ahead. It aims to help more young people get access to computers for their studies.
More Funds and Upgrades in Education
The province has raised its education development budget to Rs 110 billion. This extra money supports several projects already underway.
Last year, in 2025, officials upgraded 268 schools across Punjab. They also settled 37 complaints about teacher harassment.
The government introduced the Teacher Takreem Awards for the first time to honor outstanding educators.

New Schools on the Way
Plans are moving forward to set up Centres of Excellence in 10 districts. At the same time, work continues on building 300 Schools of Eminence throughout the province.
These steps build on efforts to improve school quality and give students better facilities.
